University Teaching and Learning Improving Program
The University Teaching and Learning Improvement Program (UTLIP) is designed to improve learning outcomes at SUA by providing academic members of staff training on topics such as pedagogy and use of information and communication technologies in the classroom. The trainings are designed and implemented by SUA’s University Teaching and Learning Improvement Committee (UTLIC).
Current Status – Active
From 2013 to date, UTLIC has planned and carried out two series of UTLIP training for academic members of staff (in July 2014 and February 2015). In total, more than 100 teaching staff from different departments participated in the training, and participants rated the quality and usefulness of the training highly.

Stage 1 – Conversations That Matter
iAGRI and SUA agreed on the support of the academic staff through UTLIP. iAGRI commited to provide a financial support for UTLIP tarining upon receiving a proposal which adresses the need from the QAPB. SUA through the DVC Academic submitted a proposal to iAGRI on August 21 , 2015, and the UTLIP activities was initiated in 2014.
Stage 2 – Ways That Work
Two UTLIP trainings have been conducted under iAGRI support in July 2014 and in February 2015. Following poor attendance from the first training,another strategy was used in the second training by changing the location for conducting the training.
