Submit your Big Idea
Who Can Submit?
Members of academic staff and postgraduate students at Sokoine University of Agriculture, iAGRI students, faculty and graduate students at iAGRI consortium universities and partners in our collaborative research projects are currently invited to submit research and business proposals in the form of a Preliminary Statement of Work (Pre SOW).
What is a Pre-SOW?
A Preliminary Statement of Work, or Pre-SOW, is similar to a Research Proposal. However, instead of gaining approval to conduct research for academic reasons, you are proposing research or a solution for commercial application or public funding.
The purpose of a Pre-SOW is to provide an overview of the commercial applicability of your current research to potential partners from the private, public and voluntary sectors. The audience differs from that of an academic research proposal, but the content contains similar elements. The Pre-SOW should not exceed 3 pages. If accepted, the Pre-SOW will be displayed on the Innovation Portfolio website. When a sponsor is found, the research team and sponsors will co-develop a final Statement of Work (SOW) that contains more complete expectations, a full budget and contract terms.
How to Submit?
Step 1: Complete a Preliminary Statement of Work (Pre-SOW).
Step 2: Complete an Estimated Total Cost Budget Template.
