RUFORUM Scientific Data Management Course

Scientific Data Management Course for Sokoine University of Agriculture was held for graduate students during the week of March 3rd, 2014. The course was put on by RUFORUM and its objective was to give students the needed software and interpretive skills to create tables and figures, analyze data from tables and figures and anything else related to data management that could be needed for their graduate research. The instructors were biometricians and social scientists Dr. Suzan Balaba Tumwebaze from Makerere University in Uganda and Dr. Vincent Oeba from the Kenya Forestry Research Institute. Approximately half of the participants were iAGRI cohort 2 scholars.

iAGRI students participate in short-course conducted by the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), a consortium of 32 universities in Eastern, Central and Southern Africa. This Scientific Data Management Course trained students on needed software and interpretive skills to create tables and figures, analyze data from tables and figures and other skills related to data management that could be needed for their graduate research.
