U.S. Consultants traveling to Tanzania

You are coming to work directly with iAGRI as a consultant.
Visitors must fill out the Travel Information Form prior to travel for a driver to meet you at the airport. For more information, please see sections 3 and 4 below.

iAGRI’s Management Entity (ME) in Columbus, OH and Project Management Unit (PMU) in Morogoro, Tanzania will work with you to schedule your trip. We will cover all travel, lodging, and meals and incidentals reimbursed at the State Department rates. Please be prepared to cover all in-country expenses and save receipts for reimbursement. The Consortium contact at your institution can provide further details about how to handle your travel expenses.

Please refer to the Traveler’s Information Guide for information and advice. Then follow the steps below to schedule your trip:

1. Select Travel Dates and Discuss with ME

Travel dates should be selected in coordination with the PMU with reference to the Sokoine University Almanac. Once the dates are finalized, please contact David Hansen (614-292-7252 or hansen.4@osu.edu) at the ME to determine who will manage your travel. Generally it is handled through the consultant’s university.

2. Purchase Ticket and Obtain Passport

Book a ticket to Tanzania that complies with the Fly America Act. You should make arrangements to obtain a passport if you do not already have one.

3. Complete and Submit Travel Information Form

Please complete the online Consultant Travel Information Form at least four weeks before your departure from the US. The information will enable iAGRI arrange in-country transportation and accommodations.
